Heritages and Museums



Musmeah Yeshua Synagogue is the last remaining Jewish house of worship in Downtown Yangon and Burma’s only synagogue. The synagogue stands nestled between Indian paint shops and Muslim traders on a small street near the city centre.


The Bogyoke Aung San Museum, located in Bahan, Yangon, is a museum dedicated to General Aung San, the founder of modern Myanmar. Established in 1962, the two-story museum was Aung San’s last residence before his assassination in July 1947.


The National Museum, located in Dagon, Yangon, is the one of the national museum of Burmese art, history and culture in Myanmar Founded in 1952, the five-story museum has an extensive collection of ancient artifacts, ornaments, works of art, etc.


U Thant House isn’t like other museums, and it isn’t like other restored homes. The exhibit is split up into different rooms, each dedicated to different periods and themes of U Thant’s upbringing and career: Early Life, Educator, Writer, Public Servant, Secretary-General U Thant and Peacemaker.
